By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Milford School Committee will meet tonight and recognize the outstanding work done by staff members and students who volunteered extensive hours over the summer to once again operate the Milford summer lunch program. Throughout the summer the program offered a free lunch, Monday through Friday to any child under the age of 18 and their family. While also offering interactive activities and games. Volunteers from the Milford Public Schools Food Services the Milford Area Humanitarian Coalition the Hockomock area YMCA and several Milford High School students. Another topic tonight will be “Alternative Structured Learning Day Programs” also known as “Blizzard Bags” which would allow schools to replace lost time from school closures due to weather. Milford Superintendent of Schools Doctor Kevin McIntyre will also review to the School Committee, his goals for the new school year.
