Town Hall Notes for Feb 1st

Trustees of the Upton Library meet tonight to discuss the fiscal year 2017 budget and how to proceed now that a committee has decided not to have a joint council on aging building.  The idea had been discussed for months but was deemed not practical at this point.  Officials apparently felt to have a combined facility would mean defeat at a town meeting for both proposed projects and there was also concern about obtaining state grant money for a new library if both agencies were housed in one building.

Mendon Selectmen tonight will review the GIS system proposal, meet with boards and committees and review a new town email address for officials.

The Mendon Upton Superintendent's Evaluation Subcommittee meets tonight to review goals and the annual plan for Dr. Joe Muruszczak.  This will be reviewed at a meeting next week.

The Upton Personnel Board meets tonight to discuss requests for performance bonuses and the fiscal year 2017 budget.

Medway Selectmen tonight will close the annual and special town meeting warrants for May 9th.

The Medway Community Preservation Committee tonight will discuss the conversion of town records to a new digital media format, property acquisitions, the extension of a bike and walking trail and the Briggs land consisting of 11 acres will be discussed.

The Medway Design Review Board tonight will discuss municipal electronic message boards, the Willows Adult Retirement Community and design review guidelines.

The Uxbridge Conservation Commission tonight will review proposed New England Power Company substation site improvements on Depot Street.  This includes expansion of the existing access road and creation of a new parking area.  The North Woods Housing Development will be discussed.  It will have nine homes.  The repaving of a parking lot on West River Road will be reviewed.
