By MyFM's Rick Michaels - There are only four Republican Senators in the 40-member State Senate and except for the Minority leader Bruce Tarr, all are facing a challenge this year, including Senator Ryan Fattman of Sutton, who’s seeking re-election to a fourth term and is being challenged by Milford Democrat Christine Crean. Among the towns included in the Worcester-Norfolk District, are Milford, Hopedale, Mendon, Northbridge, Uxbridge, Blackstone and Bellingham. Senator Fattman was first elected to the Senate in 2014 and was re-elected two years ago by 10,000-votes, defeating Democrat Thomas Merolli of Mendon. Christine Crean is a former Chair of the Milford Democratic Committee and retired social worker. Democratic Senator Rebecca Rausch of Needham is seeking re-election and is being challenged by Republican Matt Kelly of Franklin. Among the towns included in the Norfolk-Bristol-Middlesex District, are four precincts in Franklin, one-precinct in Millis, as well as the towns of Plainville, Wrentham and Norfolk. Senator Rausch defeated Republican Senator Richard Ross of Wrentham two years ago by about 2,000 votes and is seeking re-election to a second term. Republican Matt Kelly is a Franklin Town Councilor and former School Committee member and operates a real estate business.
