Two Men Escape Injury On Train Tracks

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A grandfather and grandson were able to escape injury last night, after their car broke down on commuter rail tracks in Ashland with the oncoming train striking the vehicle and pushing it down the tracks several hundred feet. Authorities say the two got lost and ended up getting stuck on the tracks so they went to a nearby fire station for help but, by the time they returned, the outbound 6:45 p.m. Worcester train was barreling toward it. Ashland Fire Chief Vincent Alfano says the two would have been seriously injured or killed had they been in the car which was crushed by the train which was stuck for several hours causing delays for commuters heading home but no one on the train was injured.
