By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Upton Board of Selectmen, in consultation with the Board of Health has declared a local state of emergency. The action was taken last night at an emergency meeting of the Board of Selectmen, in response to the public health threat of COVID-19. It means the Upton Town Hall, Library and Senior Center will be closed beginning today and will remain closed for the same amount of time the schools are closed. Upton Selectmen say the decision will allow the town to maintain continuity of government and ensure the town can meet the need of it's residents. The Board has also authorized the use of remote participation for all boards and committees, until further notice.
