An Upton woman will not be seeing any jail time despite stealing more than $100 thousand in social security benefits and giving false information on applications to receive other state benefits. 64 year old Patricia Kwiatkowski had pleaded guilty to stealing public money and yesterday in US District Court in Worcester she was sentenced to two years probation, three months of home or community confinement and also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $128,000 to the social security administration and almost $2,400 to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Kwiatkowski continued to receive her father's social security benefits and wrote checks from his account to pay her bills after he died in 2006. A practice she continued until just last year. Kwiatkowski also received food stamps and Mass Health benefits and subsidized housing in 2013 by providing false information on her applications.
