By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Town of Uxbridge is in very good financial condition with the town recently receiving a strong rating from Standard and Poors. Uxbridge Town Manager David Genereux has put together a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2018 which totals just over 43-million dollars, reflecting an increase in spending of around 946-thousand dollars from last year. Genereux says it’s a balanced budget, however, the school committee is seeking additional funding for Uxbridge Schools by virtue of an override. The budget was put together from the best estimates of future revenue and expenditures and in advance of the release of final financial information, dealing with local aid from the State. Uxbridge’s credit rating is AA-Plus, one step lower than the highest rate of Triple-A with tax collection rates continuing to be over 99-percent.
