Uxbridge Native Doing Well In Navy Weatherman Role

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - An Uxbridge native is currently providing timely, comprehensive and tactically relevant weather information for the U.S. Navy, at it's Weather Command Headquarters in Mississippi. Chief Petty Officer Dan Hicks a 2002 graduate of Uxbridge High School is responsible for forecasting the weather for Navy leaders, providing them with the impacts of ocean and atmospheric conditions for future operations for the numerous ships, submarines and airplanes deployed around the world. Hicks credits success in the Navy to many of the lessons learned while growing up in Uxbridge, being part of a Navy family and being able to continue the tradition of military service. Hicks is playing an important role in America’s focus on rebuilding military readiness and strengthening alliances, in support of the National Defense Strategy and he says serving in the Navy allows him to serve for his family and honor those who have gone before him putting on this uniform Hicks says gives him a great deal of pride.
