The Bellingham Women of Today had a great year with many activities for the community. Who can forget a visit from the Easter Bunny! The Mass. Women of Today held their Winter State meeting in Bellingham and Bellingham was well represented by a presentation including our history and all that the town has to offer.
Spring brought 50 gift bags of goodies for the elderly homebound on the Meals-on-Wheels program, followed by clothes baskets full of personal care items for the Medway House homeless shelter. Many businesses in town helped collect the items along with the BWOT.
There were laughs galore at the BWOT Comedy Night in April. It is sure to be an annual event. The group provided two scholarships to Bellingham High School students and made donations to other local charities. Our Mother’s Day flowers for children in a homeless shelter to give to their mothers is a project we enjoy doing every year.
The BWOT will take a break during July and August but are already thinking about the fall. We will be at the Pumpkin Stroll in October with the duck pond and of course Muffins with Santa and the annual telethon for families in need.
These are just some of the BWOT activities. We would like you to join us as we continue to serve our community. We are open to men and women 18 years or older. We meet in the Police Department Youth Center, located behind the Dairy Queen, on the first Monday of the month at 7:30, September through June.
