By MyFM's Rick Michaels - According to the Norfolk County District Attorneys’ Office a Rhode Island man has been sentenced, after admitting that he burst into an apartment in Franklin, on a late night in January of 2015, stabbing and almost killing a man. 27 year old Keinan McKenna of Woonsocket entered guilty pleas on each of three indictments against him for armed assault in a dwelling assault with Intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, causing serious bodily injury. McKenna broke into his former girlfriend’s West Central Street apartment and stabbed an unarmed man 13 times before taking off. Norfolk County DA Michael Morrissey says McKenna will serve seven years in state prison, followed by four years of probation. Franklin Police were able to administer emergency first aid and helped save the victim's life, while gathering information and contacting Woonsocket Police who stopped the vehicle McKenna was driving and took him into custody.
